Aruba's Reefs - Trouble in Paradise! - Major Coral Damage

VWatertrek360 visits a couple reefs in Aruba.  Aruba and the other ABC  Islands have a problem with their coral reef's health.  We look at  several of the problems and causes.  Things to know before you dive  Aruba, for the coral reefs.  This previously healthy site is in peril,  as are many of the reefs in the Caribbean.

WaterTrek360 visits two shallow reefs on the west end of Grand Cayman.   Wild Life  Reef and Hammerhead Hole average under 50 feet or so in depth.  They are  located about a half mile off the central part of 7 mile beach.

WaterTrek 360 visits Big Tunnels dive site, which is consistently listed  in the top 10 dive sites in all of Grand Cayman.   This premier site  has a maze of meandering deep canyons, channels, and tunnels to explore.    Well worth the visit.

WaterTrek 360 visits two reefs on the west end of Grand Cayman.   ZZ-Top  at the North Wall,  and The Three Trees, located about a half mile off  the northern part of 7 mile beach.  They are boat dives, due to distance  from shore.

WaterTrek360  visits 3 Dive sites at Jardines de la Reina in Cuba as  part 3 of a   6 part  20 dive series.       On this day,  we dove  Cabezo de la Cubnera, La Trampa, and Boca de Piedra.   We also did two  land excursions.  One to Playa Hutia, a site home to the Hutia, a large  rodent on the endangered list, and then did some snorkeling with an  American Crocodile in a mangrove forest.

WaterTrek360  visits 3 Dive sites at Jardines de la Reina in Cuba as  part 5 of a  6 part,  20 dive series.      On this day,  we dove  Pipin,  El Intermedio, and Boca Anclitas reefs.  Pipin we had encounter  with 3 large Goliath Groupers.

WaterTrek360  visits 4 Dive sites at Jardines de la Reina in Cuba as  part 4 of a  6 part,  20 dive series.      .  On this day,  we dove  Black Coral II, Five Seas site, La Cana, and Anclitas.   Black Coral II  was a shark feeding exercise on a large sea mount.
